All-State Cross Country Champion

Anclote's senior, Spencer Guerette, placed 8th in the Cross Country State Championship.  The top 10 finishers are considered All-State.  He received an FHSAA medallion for his accomplishment.    Spencer started off the race very patient and wise by hanging back from the leaders, but close enough to be a difference maker.  By the first mile, he had run 4:50 and then was content with where he was until the final 300 meters.  Going from the last turn onto the final 300 meter straight-away, Spencer was 10th and then hammered the final stretch, catching two others and claiming the 8th place spot.  His time on the 5K course was his personal best out of all four years of running the 5K in high school. Congratulations Spencer for an outstanding achievement.

This Week and Next 11/26 through 12/8

Progress reports will be distributed on Wednesday during 6th period classes.  This week we have several field trips occurring.  Our 10th grade students will be visiting the Holocaust museum and some English I classes will be attending the play "Romeo and Juliet" at the RRHS Performing Arts Center on Friday.

We have several events coming up in the next few weeks, which of course includes testing.   CORE K-12 will also be given in the next few weeks for Math and Science.  This will provide mid-year data on students' progress towards their upcoming End of Course Exam in April/May.  On December 5th and 6th, students needing to retake Algebra I EOC from last year will have an opportunity to retake the exam.  Students must pass this exam to receive credit for the course.

Our semester exams will be held December 18th through the 21st.  The following are the exam dates:
December 18th, Periods 2 and 5
December 19th, Periods 1 and 4
December 20th, Periods 3 and 6
December 21st, Exam Make-up Day

Honors classes will have an exam which is 15% of their semester grade.  For all other courses, exams given will be equivalent to a normal unit test grade.
