The Shark Raider male team competed and performed well at the 2nd Annual Zephyrhills High School JROTC Raider Meet this past Saturday. It was a grueling event consisting of the fitness test, one-rope-bridge, cross country rescue, HUMWVEE push, pull ups, and team 5k run. There were eight Army JROTC schools from Pinellas, Hillsborough and Pasco County. The Sharks came in second place on the one-rope-bridge. The most exhausting event of the day was the cross county rescue where the cadets had to carry a 120 pound litter (stretcher)and a 30 pound ruck for approximately 1 mile. We have three days to prepare for our next meet which is at Alonzo High School Area Nine Meet. More than 15 high schools will be competing to see if they qualify to go to the state meet in December.
